Anyone know who this intrepid Kitfox pilot might have been? I can picture F-16's "intercepting" a Model 2, but the "escorting" part would prove problematic, methinks.

Those F-16's wouldn't have stood a chance against a tight-turning,
scud-running Model IV....much like the P-40's trying to out-turn a
Zero. : )

It says a "KitFox like this one" and that it is a "file photo", so I'm guessing that is not the one?!?!?

Only 2 planes are based at that field. One is a yellow Chipmunk and the
other is a yellow & blue J-3. I say it had to be the J-3. I live 3 miles
from there and flew my Fox from there years ago.

F-16's have guns. They don't take no for an answer!

if you ever have an F16 come up off your left wing, rock his wings and make a slow turn to the left don't do anything but just follow him...chances are there is another one right behind you.

It was not a KitFox...but a Piper Cub piloted by a 75 year old gal who keeps in at her home (private strip) in South Barrington...and if anybody knows what the real estate prices are around there...she must be worth about a zillion...well anyway...she said she thought the F-16 pilots were just admiring how cute her old cub was!
