Hi,
Does anyone know of any other 'Berube conventional taildraggers' that are flying other than the following:

N914BL
N108EA
N531RP
N141EW

Thanks,
Phil

Hi Ian,

Thanks for that information.

I found 2 more in Australia:

http://theaussieaviator.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=3365

http://theaussieaviator.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=9511

You can probably guess where I'm going with this. Approval by the LAA may be easier if it can be demonstrated that there are aircraft flying around the world in this configuration with no issues.

Also, there was Bob Berube's motorglider with this undercarriage. I'm not sure where that went to.

I think there's about 15 'Swiss' taildraggers in total (most still flying).

Ian,

I have a correction to your list: PH-MZW is my Europa, I bought her as G-BWON in 2008 as a Tri-gear. Years before I bought her, the G-BWON indeed had a swiss u/c, but no longer.

Hi All,

I saw a picture of the Swiss Taildragger and I must admit that it piqued my curiosity.  I know that the Berube Taildragger conversion places the wheels in the same place and height as the mono.

Is this the case with the Swiss Taildragger ?

Thank you for that information. I have a picture of G-BWON as a
"conventional" dated 2003. So I assume she was crashed and rebuilt as a
Trigear about 2004 -5

I'm curious as to why G-BWON was converted from the Swiss taildragger to a tri-gear. I just checked the AAIB site and the only prang it had was an undercarriage retract when landing (as a mono). It must be the only Europa to have ever had 2 undecarriage changes?
