Capacitive senders may not all be alike but the one I got requires a fairly large "bump" on top of the wing. I made a fairing by cutting up an aluminum drip pan from the kitchen stove. It doesn't look too bad but little mods like this sure add to the build time. On the other hand, hanging a piece of the kitchen stove on the plane was a very satisfying bit of rebellion against regulations. : )

When the FAA inspected my 701 I had a beer can stuffed with a brass scrubber pad with the breather hose to one inch of the bottom for an oil separator. The only comment the inspectors had was it was the wrong brand beer can. This certainly was a very light separator.
This actually worked very well until I found a transparent container so I can now see how much oil has collected. When an amount I deem needs removing I simply suck it out with a turkey baster.
