HI KIDS.............It is with great sadness that I write this We lost Andy Bustillo. Andy had emailed me not long ago regarding delivering a Commander (not his). I met Andy in Ohio when he hired me to accompany him to California to have Morris work on his new purchase, N560WM. We flew the airplane to CA and after Morris had done his magic, I flew with him again to his home in FL. I have several great stories from those trips!! Andy came to at least one of our fly ins winning the coveted "Golden Pedal" award. He loved his Commander and was thinking of moving up to a turbine. According to Morris, a witness saw smoke from both engines, He wonders if this could be yet another miss fueling?? What a sad time in Commanderland, Andy will be missed. jb

This is so sad and if what you suspect is true so unnecessary.
I remember when Crunks 560 was refueled with Jet A and trashed both engines. Thank God the problem in that case was discovered before takeoff.

THE ONLY REASON I'M HERE TO WRITE THIS IS THE JET FUEL WAS ONLY ABOUT 20 PERCENT OF THE TOTAL ON BOARD. OUR AIRCRAFT HAD A RESTRICTOR, BUT THAT WON'T STOP A JET FUEL TRUCK WITH THE WRONG FUEL NOZZLE. .LESSON: DON'T LET ANYONE FUEL A COMMANDER WITHOUT YOU WATCHING. LLOYD
