Kitfoxers,
I've located some yellow Tygon fuel line for my model 5, but had to buy a full roll of it. I'm selling eight foot lengths, enough for both wings to the header tank lines for $20 with pre-paid shipping anywhere in the U.S. My old fuel line was getting brittle and made wing folding problematic.

Hi Joel,
Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm just curious.
Why didn't you use regular black rubber fuel line?

Hi Roger,
I selected Tygon because I can see fuel flowing through it and because it is more flexible than rubber fuel line, making wing folding easier.

I switched to the yellow tubing a few years ago. I also used this tubing for my sight gauge. I found it difficult to see the fuel level so I purchased two fuel gauge floating balls from I think Univair and placed them in the sight guage. It works pretty good. One problem was that the balls were too large for the inside diameter of the tubing. I had to file/sand the balls down to the correct size. I know what some of you are thinking, I have too much time on my hands.

Not sure about other colors, but the yellow is translucent, so fuel flow is visible. Here is a link to a source on Amazon.

I think I answered my question.
I couldn't find the clear tube rated for fuel.

Clear polyurethane tubing sold by Wicks Aircraft under p/n 0545-107 (3/8" ID) is rated for fuel. And I've used it successfully for sight gauges with premixed fuel/oil. However, it comes in every size except 5/16" ID.

I replaced my wing tank to header tank fuel lines over the weekend with the 5/16 id Tygon fuel line. It was easy to work with and fit the barb fittings perfectly. I dipped the line in a little engine oil prior to sliding it over the fitting, installed the clamps and poured some fuel into the tanks. No leaks, and no more fuel vapor smell in the cockpit. I've got some tubing left from the roll I purchased. It takes about 8 feet at $1.85 per foot, plus $5.20 for shipping via USPS Priority Mail.

Since we have alcohol in our mogas in CA, I use
Bing Alcohol Resistant Fuel Line. It use to be sold by ACS but I didn't see it on-line just a few minutes ago. Another source might be:

Blue fuel line that will not rot or deteriorate from the inside.
Will withstand 50 PSI and has a high elastic memory, ideal for using with barbed fittings in low pressure applications without the need for clamps

Unfortunately, none of the catalog stores, including Aircraft Spruce, sell 5/16 id fuel tubing. The 1/4 id line, either Bing or Tygon, works great for the vent line, but 5/16 id is required for the lines between the wing tanks and the header tank. If any of the usual mail order sources carried 5/16 id, I would not have needed to order a roll from a wholesale supplier. I even searched the Kitfox parts catalog at kitfoxaircraft.com but didn't find it.
All that said, if anyone wants to purchase enough 5/16 id Tygon line for their Kitfox without buying a whole roll of the stuff, I have a couple 8 foot lengths left.

Has anyone thought about USCG approved fuel line?

I just removed some Shields Fuel Feed Hose-5/16" I.D. from my Kitfox for 3 reasons:
1. There was a perpetual, small leak at one wing tank fitting. Just enough to generate fumes.
2. It is opaque, so I couldn't visually verify fuel flow.
3. It is fairly stiff, making solo wing folding a bit more difficult.
It is also a bit more expensive than Tygon or Bing line.
