Further to recent posts, I have now obtained and fitted the spring type clips in place of the jubilee clips on my radiator hoses. On first fitting, the leaks were much worse. I have doubled up the clips on the two lower connections with jubilee clips which appears to have stopped the leak for now. I am guessing that the spring clips may seal better as the engine and hoses warm up and allow them to bed in.
Anyone else had this experience?

Hi Richard,
I have CTC clips on all of my coolant hoses including the big ones to the radiator and they work fine. I believe that Rotax fit CTC clips as standard on new engines these days.
The only thing I can offer is that when I was looking for some odd ball CTC clips that I bought some from a supplier in Canada who imported them from Korea and they were pretty much weaker than the ones I purchased from McMasters here in the US.

Hi Paul,
Could you provide a McMaster part number or spec for those clips. I'm sure there's plenty of folks who would be interested in them.

Paul,
Yes, I found the clamps section. There are two styles, one of sheet steel and one of round steel rod. Which style are you using successfully and what size? It will be time to replace the coolant in another 25 hours or so and I would like to convert to the CTC at that time.

McMasters have reduced the range of CTC that they carry, however what they do have can be found at:

Hi Guys
I too purchased CTC clamps to hold my Silicone hoses in place on my 914. Be aware the clamps come in different widths and tensions, they are not all created equal.
Whatever I couldn't procure from McMaster, I got SELF-COMPENSATING HOSE CLAMPS from Rotor Clip:
http://rotorclip.com/hose_clamps.php
(I forget now, but they may have even sent me what I needed as free samples?)
Although you could probably get away by using something you already have for squeezing and installing, I broke down and bought a purpose pliers that allows for holding and rotating the angle. I probably bought them from McMaster.
No matter it isn't a bad idea to wear safety glasses when installing the clamps, at least until they are held captive on the hose.
