We got the wing panel off Saturday.
Total (working) time from moving the plane into the hangar, removing wing-tip, removing aileron and flap, and until the outboard wing panel was placed on saw horses: 7.25 hours.
Wing removed and packed into a crate to and ready to send to Fletcher; another 3 hours.
TIme bidded and charged the customer: 4 hours.
I'll see if all the pics will load. If not, I'll post to the AuCountry Aviation Facebook page.

It looked like the corrosion paint ran into the gap between the spars. It was really stuck.

Were you able to recycle the AA1 wing crate? No point in all that lumber going to waste.

Yes, but, by-god that thing is heavy.
I'm going to build another box if this happens again. But, it'll be big enough for the whole wing using space frame technology.

Once I got it to move more than 1/4 inch (at the trailing edge, I just kept flooding it with lubricant. I used large (longer than 15 inches) screw drivers and pried on the top and bottom, edges taped, to work the wing back and forth. Once I got it to move, Clytie and I worked the Wong panel up and down with a come-a-long pulling slightly on the tie down. It took 4 hours to get the first 1/4 inches out. Then, another Couple of hours to work the rest of the way off.
It looked like there was just a minimum amount of corrosion. It also looked like the corrosion paint had run between the spars ans 'glued' the spars together.

What model/year plane is it? I thought that the wing spars were coated
with grease before assembly. And painted before wing assembly. If so,
how would the paint seep in to the joint and bond them together?
