Hi folks,

I need a serviceable Vickers Hydraulic Motor for the primary pressurization supercharger on my 680F(p).  The part number on the motor tag is MF03380078.  If you do not have a complete motor, I really only need the roller bearing inside the pump.  My pump still puts out good pressure, it's just that it is so noisy that even drivers of early Lears complain about the noise on the tarmac.

Hi Moe,

Is it possible that the roller bearing is an industry standard part? And if the bearing is chattering, how is the shaft holding up?

Regards,
Stan

Moe,

Unless absolutely necessary, no design engineer would utilize specialized bearings in an assembly if a suitable one was available off the shelf. The cost of producing a special bearing produced in small numbers would be prohibitive. The bearing will likely sport a chemically etched part # on the race which you can use to find the replacement. With a little research, you should be able to find the bearing you need. {Never under any circumstances tell the bearing supplier its for an airplane....."It's for my garden tractor"}

I have successfully sourced seals, bearings etc. for my Commander from manufactures catalogs. I needed a seal for the gear box which I purchased from an engine re builder. The Chicago Rawhide package the seal came in was unopened (from the factory); was obviously not inspected (I wasn't surprised!) by Lycoming and the package simply stamped with the Lycoming part number and of course - marked up astronomically.

Hope this helps.

Rumors persist that 2012 will be the last race at Reno.  Anyone up to having the fly in there?  If we meet there, perhaps, we can borrow the Buick from the local FBO.

With a little research, you should be able to find the bearing you need. {Never under any circumstances tell the bearing supplier its for an airplane....."It's for my garden tractor"}

 Hi Moe,

Is it possible that the roller bearing is an industry standard part? And if the bearing is chattering, how is the shaft holding up?

Subject: Hyd. Motor for Pres.
