|
|
Before the upgrade the wing locker hinge was mounted on the bottom side of the original L angle (3/4" and .032" thick ) on the upper aft side of the wing spare. Now that L angle is replaced with the with the extruded L angle (1" and 1/8" thick) and my original locker hinge is not fitting.
Can you guys give me some ideas on how you made this work.
Thanks
Andrew

So I guess you are putting the hinge on top of the L angle instead of under.
If so, did you trim off the 1" strip of the top rear skin to make it fit better. Just want to make sure I am not giving up any tensile strength that 1" strip provides.
Thanks

Andrew
I fitted the hinge as part of my new build so this may not help unless you buy a new hinge.
I simply pulled the hinge pin out and turned one half of the hinge over and replaced the pin
This will give you the 3mm difference between the two halves for the new angle.
Simply mount the front part under the angle as per the original and the rear part of the hinge will line up with the underside of the top sheet.
You will also notice that the hinge ends will be half a tab out on each ends. These require to be cut off so if you order new hinge allow a bit of extra length for this
Cheers
Ray
