Is Navbox / quickplan or pro plan still the best flight planning software to use in the UK and Europe or is there something better now, ideally which could be used on an Ipad and /or Mac (without Windows) also?

Richard Hi!Get Skydemon. Runs on iPad, you can use Web Version on Mac or PC application to Windows CE Device.
30 days free evaluation of full system on Web Site at: http://www.skydemon.aero/
I use it on a MacBook Pro and another version via PC to Windows CE Device (old iPaq 314). Also on my iPad too. It is excellent!
Great support and updating of maps once a month.
IMHO. Second to None. You can also buy the Hardware and Software from Skydemon.
They are based in UK.

Hi Richard,

I use www.goVFR.com for planning on a PC and Air Nav Pro (on iPad and
iPhone) where I can download plans or create them locally.
Very efficient and easy to use.

Can't  speak for your side of the pond, but I'm impressed with the value proposition of AirNavPro.  You guys even get 3d-mapping (no maps for NA yet).

It crashes sometimes, but picks up where it left off without issue. Chock full of features for $40 + nominal chart cost.  I use it in my IPAD (which has GPS).

Cheers,
Pete

Hi Richard.

Yes it does work on the Ipad and Iphone and also on android platforms  On those platforms its called airspace avoid
Though I do not have any personal experience on those machines it works well on my devices.

Just click on the airspace avoid tab on the left of their web site for more info.
