I've put about 80 landings in in the first 40 hours. The nose gear has loosened up some, but still does not self center. I put a small pointer below the door with a wire tie on the cable to find center. I've noticed the problem with the nosewheel coming down in a turned position. The inside of the fork has some rub marks to attest to the qwerk. Noting has bent. My plane needs power to keep the gearbox on the Hirth from chattering. The Hirth is a good deal lighter than the Rotax, so that may make it easier. On wet grass I have to use a brake to turn well.

I use wear strips from MSC instead of grease on the shallow centering "v" notches. I use no rudder input JUST before nose touches down. Easy for cross wind.
First modification I performed was to replace the hollow front axle with the solid version. I have scars on the tire tread from the bolt heads from one hard landing, bending the original hollow axle and consequently flexing the aluminum supports. I was very lucky as tire could have locked....Bending nose strut..ect..ect.
Rolling resistance is high on fat short radius nose wheel over rough ground. Future changes in the works on my plane include larger radius wheel and motorcycle racing forks. Current design nose gear can be exceeded, (as any of course), on rough ground....Just my thoughts...DonB
