Fellow Rotax 914 Jockeys,
forgive me this odd question please.
I have my Europa stored in the trailer and was doing some avionic checks when I noticed the fuel pressure was almost nothing indicated on the conventional Rotax gauge with one pump running and only about 0,15 bar (not steady) with the boost pump switched on. The lower red line on the gauge is 0,25 bar. I can clearly hear both pumps running.
I don't know the aircraft that well since I bought it last year and thus cannot recall if that value changed. I also haven't tried yet with the engine running but my last flight was completely uneventful.
I regard that as a vital question and would appreciate your opinion on this item. Do I have to worry?

Roland, The only reasons I have come across for low fuel
pressure in my 914 are fuel running out in main tank
(sorted by switching over to reserve) or gunge in the
gascolator (particularly happens early on when the initial
tank debris has not been all cleared). Others have
rerported rubbish in the in line original filters if you
have retained them rather than getting a gascolator, and
someone had a ball of dog hairs blocking the main exit
from the tank. It is certainly worth getting to the bottom
of it. You can easily check fuel flow by disconnecting the
fuel pipe prior to the carbs and running it into a jug.

You can attach an in line low pressure gauge to double check it.
Most of the time it's the fuel pressure sender. I would start with that and change it.

Okay - something embarrassing to admit and I can almost hear you all laughing at me. I take it as a man.
For those who do not know yet: Sufficient fuel pressure cannot be established without opening the fuel selector (which is certainly closed, when the aircraft is stored in the trailer).

Hi Roland,
I don't think anyone will laugh, certainly not us flying LH and questioning
about the right position to switch fuel selector to reserve when short
petrol: no written indication, a bit of stress which could turn into panic
and engine starves... Fortunately it was a "what if" game between us and the
positive result was to put a scheme of the selector on the console between
seats before next fly.
