Hi! Guys
It just occurred to me to remind you that this was at least one time Bob Harrison took the safest option........never before heard of in some circles !
Best regards

Well done guys. I was up doing weather from 04.30 Thursday and there was no way you would have flown from the North East to the South coast except in life risking conditions. I had the tail end of a urinary infection after an endoscopy 10 days earlier (Good news though ....first “inspection” indicates the bladder cancer gone although it can never be trusted as experienced with Jan, so watch this space! Then I had a major problem with my winch cable meaning I wouldn’t be able to re-box the plane on return so I felt that there were far too many things telling me not to even try. I really did want to attend the show ...I hope we will be getting full reports from those who did attend?
Best regards
Bob Harrison G-PTAG

Just a quick update to say that despite the weather a successful gathering of Europa owners has taken place at Biberach in the last few days. Those attending were Dave Bosomworth, Ian Cook and myself from the UK, Bill Sisley from New Zealand, John Roedseth and partner from Luxembourg, Dirk Oyen and Karel Vranken from the Belgium/French border. Of special mention is Ivor Phillips who actually flew his Europa from Lydd to Biberach on Thursday in what was unkind weather. One further Europa was seen at Friedrichshafen PH-MJW so we did our best.
A further report will be sent for the Europa Flyer.

Steve,
I also made it to Friedrichshafen via RyanAir but due to a migrain l was out of action Thursday evening and hence did not make the (2+ hr return drive to Biberach).
The weather on Thursday in the Uk (l am based close to Stansted) was 400' to approx 2500' layers of cloud up to about 6500. Anybody who flew out in a Europa in that is very brave!!. The conditions did not appear to chnge much until Metz where there were breaks in the cloud. In the Friedrichshafen region on Thursday it was great. Friday was less good with showers and some CB activity. Today it looked flyable but with increased CB and some rough air around 2500-5000.
I made the right decision not to fly my Europa, l congratulate Ivor for making it, although l have no idea how it was possible under VFR.
The show was a great success, lots of new things to look at, some familiar faces, but less display flying going on than the last time l visited. Highlights for me were the new 912iS, the VL3 which l think will become very popular.
