Sometime ago I found an article ,and some pictures, of a good way to put an eyelet or something else to secure the plane during night stop.

Hi Luigi, hope all is well in Italy.
I drilled a hole in the outer flap support bracket and have a couple of small shackles purchased from a ships chandlers. This allows the attachment of straps to tie downs.
On the nose I use the engine mount. I haven’t got a tie down for the tail, maybe I should think about that.
Regards, Clive
P.S. Esqual has 46 hours on it! Now out of test permit and waiting for a new one….

The best protection from a hurricane is to fly somewhere it isn't.
Have a wonderful day,

Bear,
I've done several and it is actually simple. Go inland as far as you can.
We did one once from Atlanta to Memphis in an SNB, my only ever flight as a pilot it one of those.

I believe my insurance policy now says if I’m the path of a hurricane and I don’t make an attempt to leave then they won’t honor the policy. I do believe they offer relocation expenses as further enticement to move the plane.
Just my two cents worth.

Earl, understood...when folks here were told to evaucate to Orlando for Charlie, it came in at Punta Gorda (way south of here) and ended up going through Orlando...so much for evacuating....fortunately I did not have the lightning at that time so I didn't have to launch off anywhere..

Bear,
I was attending ERAU at the time in Daytona Beach. Four hurricanes hit us that year. (2004) Was a bad time on many levels. Always enjoyed the "fleet relocation" though. We had around 120 planes at the time if memory serves, and less flight instructors. Excellent time for X-country time. My first year there it was Floyd I believe. Literally stretched from South Florida to South Carolina. There I was, didn't know a soul and two weeks in they kick us out of the dorms on 12 hour notice! To top o

Mark,
You always have a couple of good Depending on the Insurance company, In florida we have an insurance rider that also pays for movement of the plane in case of a hurricane, BUT if you leave the plane within the hurricane area, it is still insured. However, there's a small deductible, I beliveve 5 % kicks in.

Brian,
Probably a fun "road" trip though! Where did you re-locate to? BTW, I got my masters from EARU (european campus)

I think it depended on hurricane predictions. May be Jackson TN, may be South Carolina. Always an interesting experience whether by car or plane! Thanks, Brian W.

Bear,
There ain't no place in Florida where you can be 200 miles inland, much less 300. Come to Atlanta and we'll help you out.
