Has anyone replaced the fabric boot at the base of the stick? It looks like there are two plates that hold the fabric and the fabric is riveted to these plates. Know anywhere to purchase the boot? I was going to remove the fabric and see if a local store could make them for me if I couldn't find any.

Went to a fabric store, picked out a canvas camo fabric. Used the old boot as a pattern, cut out the new, had my Bride of 42 years set up her #2 sewing machine and made my own, recycling the old plate. Squeezed eyelets with a Handy-Dandy tool from the fabric store, laced it up with some leather shoelace and Bingo a new set of boots Front and Rear.

PS (it helps to have done previous aircraft upholstery)

*Somewhere* in your community I'm sure there is someone working from home who can do this kinda work and on the cheap. Disclaimer: Excludes communities like Beverly Hills, Grosse Pointe, all of Whiteside County, Marin County.... you get the idea.
