It is rather difficult to decipher the performance data in the translated manuals.

For example, the rated thrust table uses the term "g./hp-hr." for fuel flow values. Anyone have a clue what that is and -- more importantly -- how to convert that to gallons or liter per hour?

There is no table for intake pressure other than at sea level. Do we presume 25.4mm (1 inch) per thousand feet climb? Is 65% rated thrust then 1950 RPM at 450mm at 6500ft?

Bottom line, if anyone has some detailed performance values or charts I would much appreciate having a copy.

In exchange, I'll provide the REAL (i.e. paid to have them measured and calculated) c.g. station values of the CJ-6A.

Yes. This is on my web site.
http://www.yak-52.com/Power%20Settings.htm. There is a power chart from
the M14 manual AND a write up below it which explains how to convert
grams per horsepower/hour to gallons/liters.

Hopefully this will help you calculate what you're looking for.

Correction:

I wrote "65% power is 2250 RPM (at) 660 mm/hg". That should read 1950 RPM.
2250 is the RPM for rated power.

I should type 1000 times "Proof read then Send" No, probably wouldn't help.

Dennis,
good numbers for the M-14; do you or anyone else have the same for the Housai 285HP?
Thanks
Phil

I don't have the same chart for the Housai. But from the text you
should be able to calculate gallons and liters per hour.

I went to the base address and found the table. The address is

http://www.yak-52.com/Power Settings.htm

%20 don't work none.

With all these being at sea level. Am I to assume a 25.4 mm drop in pressure per 1000' MSL? And at what altitude is full throttle the best you can do? And I think I read at some altitude full rich is max lean.

Mike

And one more thing. Horsepower does not remain constant with altitude. How do I know what horsepower to use in the calculation as altitude increases?

OK. So go to www.yak-52.com and click on the Power Settings button at
the top.

The only thing I was offering you was how to convert g/hp/hr to gallons
or liters per hour, which is what you asked at the beginning of your post.
