I noticed a loose nut in my oil pressure gauge 10 hours ago. Today after a sequence over the airport I noticed 0 oil pressure. It is the gauge or transmitter or whatever. The engine is running perfectly. Any tips here? Is the gauge repairable or is there another possible problem? Just looking for experienced ideas before we head off in the wrong direction. Thanks Gord

Gord,

Had the same problem that was solved by replacing my oil pressure transducer. For the CJ there are two, one for the forward and one for the aft cockpits. Easy job. While I was at it replaced both. Got them from Doug Sapp. No issues since. If the aft cockpit oil pressure indication is normal, you can switch transducer hookups to confirm that is the problem.

Thanks Warren. Where is the transducer located on the CJ? Hopefully that is the problem with an easy fix. Gord

Very rarely is the problem with the instrument. I would go for the oil
pressure transducer. Most of the time the oil pressure transducer is
painted brown. It will look like the fuel pressure transducer which,
most of the time, will be painted yellow. If need be, trace the oil
pressure flexible hose from the oil pump back to the firewall. It is
the small hose from the left side of the oil pump (pilot's view left).

OK it was a cheap fix. There was a loose nut floating around in the
instrument. We took the instrument apart, found the nut and re-attached
it.....problem solved. It must have become lodged and shorted something
out. It is fine now. Thank you for the help.
