I am able to acquire LED replacements for the GE304s used in the CJ-6 (and presumably Yak) gear and tail lights. Here are some photos. I'll be happy to order a pile of these if there is sufficient interest.
As a heads up, the two contacts on the bottom require some trimming due to the springs on the poles in the sockets.

Hello. 28 volt LED replacements that fit directly are available from a US company Bright Light LEDs. I don't have the full name or the spec readily at hand, but if you search the Matronics list you will find all the details. And they fit the CJ well and work without modification.
Cheers.

This is some extra information from a prior posting. The superbrightleds site has direct drop in replacements for every bulb except the landing light. There is also a very nice wingtip nav / position / strobe LED configuration and a flashing red beacon from AveoEngineering. Makes life a little easier as they almost never need to be replaced.

The red beacon at the top of my vertical stabilizer and the wing tip nav / position / strobes on my CJ are from AveoEngineering. They are LED-based, very bright, draw next to no power and will probably last forever as they are in solid epoxy. You'll have to make a small aluminum plate to cover the large hole each the wing tip, but that's very simple. Here is a link:
www.aveoengineering.com/Aviation/Airplane_LED_Lights/position_LED_lights/AveoFlashLP_Ultra/index.php
www.aveoengineering.com/Aviation/Airplane_LED_Lights/position_LED_lights/PosiStrobe_MiniMax/index.php
Two of us at FFZ have AveoEngineering lights on our CJs.
There are also replacements for the small exterior Chinese bulb. It's 24 volt, LED cluster that has the same bayonet base. This would be a direct, drop-in replacement for the lights on the nose gear, mains and tail cone. This particular LED arrangement has viewing angle of 90 degrees, so it is brightest when seen from straight ahead. Here is where I found this:
www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Fother_bulbs.htm
The web site navigation is a little confusing, but basically what you would be looking for is the 24 volt, white, dual contact, single intensity, 15 mm 1142 bayonet base. The ordering designation is: 1142-W15-24V White LED bulb - 24V. I've attached a picture of what this looks like installed.
There are also smaller LEDs from the same web site that you can use to replace the six interior landing gear indicator lights and the cockpit interior lights.
I hope that this is helpful.

The company is SuperBright LED's. The Cockpit lamps are the BA9s series
and the tail light is in the BA15s series.

Just a word to the wise re cockpit bulb upgrades. Having spent years in the infantry, you must be careful with bulb and color selection for your cockpit lighting system. Assuming it will be used primarily at night, bright white lights will obviously effect your night vision and decrease your SA. The army uses red at night -- the problem with red is it makes everything red near invisible It might prove difficult reading various gauges etc...
I don't know what the USAF/Army etc use for cockpit illumination, but it strikes me, the dull white light in the CJ6 is, for me anyway, prob the way to go. But what do I know, I'm an army guy
