i have started taking careful measurements on my fuel system and so far i have a little problem. rt. wink tank holds just under 7 gallons. sitting level it drains all but a few ounces into the cowl tank. flying is a different matter. when the tank won't drain any more there is still a little over a gallon left. i am thinking the cowl tank is pressurized by the vent facing into the breeze and it won't let the wing tank drain completely. i even went up and flew 70 mph for 10 minutes but the last gallon won't drain. any ideas? would flaring the end of the vent on the wing tank make any difference?
a couple electric pumps seems like a lot of unnecessary plumbing to get a wing tank to drain by gravity!.

Bob,
I had a similar problem with my Model 4 draining from the wing tank into the panel mounted tank, I could get them to drain if I did a forward slip with that tank on the high wing.

Bob-
I modified my tanks by building up an area at the front/side of the
tanks with fiberglas, then drilling and tapping for finger strainers,
and plumbed the lines down the front pillars and back to my rear-
mounted header tank.

I have done a similar thing, LLoyd....I have flown for several miles
with one wing high while the header tank refilled.
