I'm trying to sort through the information concerning running non-alcohol, non-leaded auto fuel in my Jabiru 2200. (I currently use 100LL) I can't use the alcohol fuels because of the lining of my fuel tanks.
I have found a supplier of a non-alcohol, non-leaded auto fuel rated at 91 octane. Is the 91 octane rating acceptable to run in the Jabiru 2200? I generally try not to over analyze issues and maybe 100 LL is perfectly fine to use. However, I keep seeing the lead vs non-lead issue popping up and wonder if I should try to move away fron the leaded fuel. I don't want to start this discussion all over again so my main question relates to the use of the 91 octane.

Mike,
My wish for non alcohol fuel is more fuel tank related. Then there is second hand reports of a local guy having vapor lock symptoms with his Rotax 80 hp after warm up. I'd go there in a heartbeat. I have 100 LL in it right now because I am waiting for a FAA inspection on my new project and don't want the booze sitting in my tank too long. Can't help with Jab specific.

91 octane mogas has a 95-96 octane rating using the ron method. according to jab this is high enough octane. i am using 91 octane alcohol free mogas from my airport, so is the other jab 3300 on the field.

oringal glass tanks near 2000 hours = over 10,000 gallons or 50,000 litres run through these.
I am using premium now but has been whatever i get at pumps....... average 5% ethanol

Has tank deterioration from ethanol been a concern with the Model 5 series tanks from 1997?

I've see all kind of problems with the 10% ethanol, not only in the fiberglass tank resin desolving but in o-rings, gaskets, seals, fuel lines, anything organic. Some stuff is compatible, i.e. clear blue gas line, Polyethlene fuel tanks. Good luck in your research.-Tom
