Not here to start a debate on Sea Foam versus Sta-Bil. I found a good price for a gallon of Sea Foam and wanted to share it with any fellow users. I personally use Sea Foam in EVERYTHING I own (diesel pickup, car, boat, lawn mowers, weed-eaters, generators, pressure washer and the Rotax). Basically, if it’s got a gas/diesel engine, it gets Sea Foam at every fill-up.
Newegg.com is selling a gallon (128 oz.) of Sea Foam for only $48.34 delivered to your door. ($42.35 plus $5.99 flat shipping fee). Buying a gallon works out to be about $6.04 per normal 16-oz. bottle. I don’t know about where you live, but my local Advance Auto Parts sells this stuff like it’s gold… $11.99 plus tax per 16-oz bottle and I have to drive there to pick it up.
I figure this way I get four (4) FREE 16-oz bottles of the ‘magic potion’ for the price of buying four (4) locally and UPS does the driving!
Have a great weekend!

Hate the taste of that stuff but it has cleared up my athlete's foot issue and keeps the windows from fogging.

Hi Ellery,
Pics of N33040 on floats sent to you via private email. Not sure how to put pics up on Matronics.com Kolb List or if anyone else was even interested.
I think using Sea Foam is like driving a vehicle that has just been washed/detailed… it just ‘rides better’…

Us Kolbers love photos.
All you have to do is attach them to the email and you are good to go.
Here is an example. Roger Hankins and Larry Cottrell flying to the Owyhee River Canyon and Jordan Creek Canyon during the Rock House Kolb Flying 2012.

Seafoam also puts out a product now that is much better than WD 40 or Blaster from friends that use it also. Maybe cost a little more than the others but worth it.
Like you every engine I have gets the Seafoam treatment and with the fuels we have today we need something.
I would like to see your floats on your plane as there was no real information on installation when I wanted to put them on mine.
I am hoping to make it down your way before to long.

Thanks Duane! I wasn’t thinking very clearly at 04:30 AM or I would have also included a direct link in my initial email.
Take care,

Skybiker,
Installing the Puddlejumper Floats on the Mark III was not difficult. It especially helps when the CEO of Puddlejumper Floats (Patrick Vinet) agreed to fly from Montreal, Quebec, Canada to Key West (at my expense…) to help me with the install. Having Patrick here to guide me along and provide the extra pair of hands (and the brain power…) was invaluable! I purchased these floats second-hand from a fellow in Michigan who had installed them on a T-Bird. None of the hardware I got from the previous owner was useable on the Mark III and there was no ‘Owner’s Manual or Installation Instructions’ included in the sale. The fact that Patrick was willing to spend the time necessary with me on the phone and with emails (even before I offered him a free trip to Key West) says lot about his character. Heck of a nice guy even if he is French and a Liberal from Canada. J He spent two days traveling to/from Key West and two days here at my home. Luckily we got the floats installed on Day One because it rained like hell all day on Day Two! I estimate it will take me another 2-3 full days to install the cables, controls (for the AMPHIB re-tracts, etc.) and the nose gear into the forward pod. It’s definitely a one-person job and I truly enjoy the building process as much as I enjoy flying.
I can’t say enough good things about Patrick and his Puddlejumper Floats. If you are still considering floats, contact Patrick (p.vinet(at)videotron.ca) and tell him I sent ya! (www.puddlejumper.com)

Used two quarts of MMO on my recent flight West. One going and one
returning. Didn't know about tossing it over my left shoulder or I would
have tried that also. I have been using MMO for many, many years. Could
care less if anyone else uses it or not, but it works for me.
