Hey gang,

Phase 1 is complete today. As a matter of fact my first flight out of area was to Hillsdale to return the borrowed Prop to Brother Roy.  If he had not done that, I would have been a month later getting to this point.

Its looking like I will be flying my creation to Oshkosh.  One squawk is the radio not transmitting, the other is a minor oil leak. Otherwise, we are moving on to Phase 2, which will start with a bath and an oil change. Yesterday I made 10 landings at different small grass strips while gathering performance data, that and the oil leak makes for an interesting belly on the airplane.

My hangar mate made signs, all laminated and such, so it would be a shame to not use them.

See ya at Oshkosh,

4 days without a single response or congratulation...

either everyone is really busy building/getting ready for Oshkosh or they are in shock as to how quickly your Phase 1 was completed...

Congratulations!

Please fly around not over Lake Michigan on your way to Oshkosh--there is nothing more beautiful than flying up the lakeshore with the Chicago skyline on your left (watch out for the Chicago Cubs TFRs on the way back--it will push you up near 3,000 to remain within gliding distance of shore)

Thanks Sabrina, actually going to fly south and west of Chicago this time. Going to stop in at Brodhead Saturday and fly in to OSH Sunday morning.

Are you going this year?

Ron, Congratulations. I didn't even know you had made your first flight. I'm so close myself I haven't been checking out the list as much as I used to. I'm hoping for an inspection in the Autumn. Ive been seeing that avatar of you standing on your worktable for years. How about a new one with the "Plane". Its not a bunch of sheet metal anymore. Well done Ron.............Geoff
