Has anyone put an air vent in the cowl of a 701 for cooling at their feet?
I was thinking of just forward of the door down low. What kind of vent?

I was just flying yesterday with the doors on in 90F weather.
The bubble doors are hard to seal to wind will just come in. You won't need
vents for your feet.

Any easy way to prevent the o-ring seal from sliding down the rim while mating
the other half of the rim? The directions on page -15- do not exactly work real

I don't recall the trick I used for the o-ring but it is a bit tricky to do
.- I think I worked in a circular pattern slightly tightening up the bolt
s and making sure the o-ring did not get pinched as I went (pulled it free)

Sam, I installed Van's RV-10 back seat vents on either side of my boot cowl
fairly close to where my knees are.- Generally speaking, they were unnec
cessary.- The only time I've used them they didn't help much because it w
as so hot that no amount of airflow was going to cool me off.- The snap v
ents on the bubble doors move lots of air into the cockpit while flying so

It doesn't take much pressure to fill these tires, only a couple of psi I th
ink. I don't specifically fill them to a pressure now. I usually just fill
them enough so they keep their shape.

It helps to have two people when doing the o-rings.
I'm using the 21" tires at 8PSI which makes them about 19".
