Hi
For a couple a months ago, we had a tread around cut-out for ventilation in the cabin.
I have been flying with NACA cut outs for some years, but someone suggested another "round" valve, and it looked very nice - now I am just not able to find that thread ..... grrr..!!
Can someone help me .. ?
Regards

Hi Gert
I think you are referring to the Ultimate vent, I have a pair fitted and they work well
even in 40C temps, Mine are fitted just below the front screen and give you cool air
to your face and not your knee,
regards
Ivor

Ivor - it was exactly the thread/vents I was looking for!Looks super.
How are they mounted from the outside?
And could I have the cheek to ask for a picture taken from the outside ...
And question at the Forum - someone having one or two of these vents laying around and want to sell (like I have got a thousand items just sitting in the shop ..).
Regards Gert

Hi Ivor,
How did you drill the holes, what tool did you use to make it clean?

Gents,
I documented the "Ultimate Ventilators" & their installation in my build diary on EuropaOwners.org.
Here is the page on the ventilators:
http://www.europaowners.org/main.php?g2_itemId=63921
Here is the installation:
http://www.europaowners.org/main.php?g2_itemId=66265&g2_page=2
I list the sizes of hole saws needed & technique on individual pics.

Robert,
I'm thinking of using those vents also,
Those pictures are a lot more use than the info. On the spruce website.
they look fixed or does the inside rotate to direct air in any direction ?

Steve,
The vents don't direct the air, as in up/down or left/right. They adjust the volume of air. As others have stated, they work very well at bringing in an impressive volume of air for their size.
I suppose you could fabricate a box with an eyeball outlet to point it where you want it.

The ones Europa puts in the kit didn't not last were long on my plane. I think on the second flight the outside flap fell off the plane. Now I have an ugly NACA vent hole on the pilot's side.
Anybody have a flap that they didn't use. I'd like to replace the lost flap and cover the Naca vents and install the eyeball type vents.
