Is it true that you can use the original gear (mod 2,3,4) when converting to a nose dragger by swapping left main gear to right side and right to left, and moving to aft two attach points.

Subject: Parts for sale pricing request.

Hello All. I am selling my Kitfox and moving to a different aircraft. I have
a young man very interested in the plane itself, but he is looking to lower
the price a bit. I will have left over should he decide to purchase a set of
skis, minus cables and bungees. A spare greyhead 582 which runs perfectly
but is at approx 250 hours and 10 years so it needs overhaul. It is complete
with all accessories, carbs and starter (starter could use brushes). A two
place portable intercom and a 68 " GSC prop.

I have never really been a shopper for these items used and have no idea how
much they are worth, any ideas? I want to price it such that is well worth
his while to take everything.

Thanks Malcolm. I don't think it is quite that old as the stator looks like
the more modern ones and the crank has the connecting rods the same as the
new ones with the shaved portion. In any case I have been speaking with the
buyer and we have agreed on a price that includes all. That is relief to me
as I didn't want to deal with odd bits. I expect it will be better for the
buyer as well as he knows people who will be interested in the engine and I
believe he wants the skis etc.

I know it is true for models I-IV with Grove gear. I have heard it is true for models I-IV with the original gear as you have described.
