Thanks for the kind words, Lloyd, if it wasn't for my Dad I would have never flown, he being a glider/power pilot in the early days flying from Santa Monica (lower California!), Since your daughter loves turbulence, hopefully there is a glider port near by, if you can, have her take a intro flight. Most soaring sites give intros. like most sports the older pilots are leaving and not many younger kids are coming up. It's a blast to keep yourself aloft by your skills, a real achievement for a younger person! There are many ladies flying now than ever before. Here's a couple of ideas. #1 The Ninety Nines...they give scholarships when she is a little older. www.mich99s.org a very old chapter. The ladies are most supportive. #2. The Soaring Society of America. www.ssa.org There are 4 soaring sites in MI, Adrian, Cadillac, Gregory and Marshall. The more northerly one is Northwest Soaring club of Frankfort. www.northwestsoaringclub.org they have two, two place ships of the type I used to own. Excellent to take an intro ride in. ASK-13. She can start her lessons now and get a license at 16. Hope the airport isn't too far to drive....figure flying would be fun. I agree with you, if she is short flying the fox is a challenge especially landing! So this is not unusual, glad you have a flying buddy!

Toodie,
You are a true inspiration, flying for over 50 years!! Wow!! Women in aviation 50 years ago was not a common thing, good for you going against the grain. My daughter is 14 and loves to fly with me, she loves it when we get into the turbulent stuff (I don’t so much) she will take the stick of the FK for a while and fly, but it is not as easy for her to handle / TO / Land as say a 150, but we have a good time, she is my flying buddy.
