Yes, I guess about 5 knots (which I use to offset fuel).
The big thing is even temps. My CHTs have evened out. #3 used to be hot. Now it as cooled about 15F and evened out, which is good in the weather we fly in.

By the way, I glued 'zircoflex' beneath the powerflow at the front, it really keeps the cowl cool now. I know you think it wasn't needed, but I took some temp probe readings in the cowl in flight and from in front of the cowl and showed the to the materials guys at the Uni where I am adjunct, they said that eventually the fibreglass may break down or distort. So it went on
It is quite cheap and easy to do with cowls off. In Aust it is like your 347, just a logbook entry as it doesn't alter th actual cowl in any way.

Yes i have a lot of fitting and pot painting pics, they are at home, I am on holidays in the North because I have had enough of winter. We took the Grumman, its a ten hour flight.
Comments so far:
I guesstimate a 5 knot TAS improvement.
CHTs are now all below 420 even on climb. Previously my #3 would exceed 450 unless climb was faster than 90 kt.
Fitting went well, I have since had an EDM 830 fitted, the LAME (A & P) found the cowl easy to remove/replace.
Original fit the LAME allowed breather to drain to cowl. Yuk! I have since added air oil separator and the breather goes through gear leg opening.
In hot air (30C) front of cowl got very hot. We added teflon heat shield from aircraft spruce and it is now fine. (zircoflex).
Suggested improvements? I would reinforce and add camlock instead of screw for upper cowl.
