Woohoo!! Long live Classic 50's.
It gets cold for a day or two with lows in the twenties maybe the teens if its a really nasty cold front then back into the 40s and 50s. If it snows it is usually less than a couple of inches and is melted in 3 days. I would hardly call it brutal, except for the wind chill.

My class did eat at one of those old 50s outdoor drive ins...somewhere on the south side of the city.
Winters can be brutal as well. Climate extremes. But they do have more VFR flyable days then we do in the Great Lakes region. Pick your poison.
