I had a guy in our EAA chapter tell me that the alternator lock nuts on his Jabiru 3300 kept breaking.  I have not seen this problem, but I have not specifically looked for it either.  I have re-torqued them at the annual in October, so if they had been broken, I would suspect they would not have torqued properly.  He said that he finally installed the standard size larger lock nuts, the ones on the engine I believe are the skinny ones (I forget the part number difference).  He said he had to remove the washer to get the threads to show.



Has anyone else seen this issue?  I searched the forum but did not find anything.
