I have been looking over my 601HD plans and noticed that the rib forming blocks did not show the crimp locations. Does anyone know where i can find that information before I begin making the forms?

For me, the crimp locations were not on the blocs. Crimps were made with pliers after forming to straighten the rib. For location , I drew the rivet pattern on a template strip, marked my desired locations for crimps and I crimped each rib.

Hi Nelson,
The spacing of your rivets on the skins should determine the consistent
position of your crimps.
I made a strip of aluminum 3/4-inch wide with a straight line on it and
punched rivet holes in it for marking the center of the rib and rivet
locations.
This was used to repeat drilling the skins for consistent alignment both
ways. It also preceded crimping the ribs formed at best intervals.

That page shows the center section of my wing, but the process holds well
for any wing.

not the same subject..but I had a friend that started building a 601xl a few years back. It was a 51% kit with all options.Unfortunitly, he became ill after starting the “B”
mods. An a&p ai has finished the plane and now it it ready to be registered, but the owner has died. The family is now offering the finished plane for some one to buy
and get the final inspection and certification. The plane is brand new with a brand new jabiru 120hp,dynon Efis-100,grandrapids eis, garmin tr sl 40,garmin gtx 327 transponder.
Everything is 0 time , the engine has been started and checked out. the family is highly motivated to move the airplane and is willing to give someone a great deal. Well over
$60.000 in material alone . They are asking $39.ooo for openers and are willing to deal. The plane is located at Sugar Valley apt near Mocksville nc. Call me paul baker at
704-664-2273. I have owned two 601s with over 400 pleasant hours in mine.
