Painting clear is a new experience.
Funny thing about clear: the wet line is different. Harder to see. The Imron flows out nice so the orange peel that initially appears kinda of leads the painter to think it's too dry. More paint.
Plus, if a tiny little bit of dust gets in the clear, it shows. It's not like I can dust some more paint on top to hide it.
Plus, cleaning a gun with clear paint in it. If I hadn't been cleaning the same gun, using the same process, for 15 years, there would be no way to know if it's clean.
I was short on wet sanding experience.

I'm really sorry Gary. I've been feeling for awhile that this is getting frustrating for you. Being a perfectionist is not an easy path to follow. Hang in there. It's easy for me to say, but I really appreciate the effort. B

Got the left side painted today. I thought the side looked a little too much orange peel so I put on another coat. Lots of runs. Hopefully not too much work to sand out.
I've decided I'm not painting any more cowlings. Too much work. Too frustrating. I'm really not equipped to paint efficiently.
