There is a guy on ebay parting out a Yak 52. I owned this plane for 6 years and flew it over 450 hours. Sold it . 10 flight hours later new owner geared up nosewheel on runway with fire. FYI, It is NOT a heavy spar "7G" airframe as he claims. And I told him so. It did not go through overhaul in Russia before export and there are no modifications or upgrades from service bulletins.

Thanks. After I told him it was a 5g he said two "Russian" guys who stopped by to buy some parts said it "was" a 7g. Sad , well I tried. Buyer beware still applies. Watch out for those "Russian" experts. I will give the seller credit, he changed the add to represent it correctly.

As one of the "two Russians who stopped by to buy some parts", unless there was another pair of pilots with Russian accent who flew to rural Pennsylvania recently to get some parts for the YAK, I can assure you that the spar situation was not even discussed. We were pressed on time as the seller was in a hurry to drive us back to the airport. And even if it was, the person I was with, another "Russian" who has been flying the YAKs for 30 years, would be definitely able to identify heavy spar from the original.
Joe (I am referring to the eBay seller), if you're reading this forum, why don't you come forward and explain this misunderstanding.
The YAK was definitely cared for before the crash- Good job Dale. Too bad to see it's gone.

How bad is the airframe? We need a new airframe for a Yak that suffered some damage After a hangar collapse?, if anyone have some good information please inform me.

Hi Serge, Well I do have the chain of email he sent me when I tried to correct him. I quoted him verbatim your welcome to see them. I have no dog in this race and he was using you to prove his point when he did not believe me. So there you go. I will post a few photo's of the plane that will help others that want to see what it looked like. I was there 3 min after it folded. One must always remember to turn the air on. And maybe there were another set of Russians in the back of his mind.
