In my RV-6 which is powered by a 160 HP Lycoming O-320 I have a Vision Microsystems VMS 1000C. On Sunday the 7th July it worked flawlessly but on Saturday the 13th of July it unfortunately did not work. I have not used it between these dates.
The problem with my VMS 1000C is that it displays Err on the readings for MAN, OIL PSI, FUEL SYS PSI, FUEL QTY L and FUEL QTY R. Furthermore the readings for OIL TEMP and CHT seem suspect. OIL TEMP showed some 370 even though I have not run the engine for a week. I switched on the fuel pump but that did not give any fuel pressure reading. As for the fuel level, the tanks are approximately one third full. Their capacity is 19 US gal.
Do you know whether the fault lies within my VMS 1000C or with a fault in the electrical connections? In the latter case which circuits may need to be reconnected?
It seems to me that Vision Microsystems is defunct and has been so for many years.

VMS was purchased by JPI a number of years ago. Shortly after that the 'C' came out and support for the earlier versions became more difficult to acquire.
I pulled mine and replaced it with an AFS 3400 EM which I have since upgraded to EE. I sold my VM1000 parts one at a time to help other users keep their systems running.

A software fault tolerant computer system includes a primary virtual machine and a secondary virtual machine. The secondary virtual machine is operable to replicate the primary virtual machine by replicating operations performed on the primary virtual machine. The primary and the secondary virtual machines are further operable to test for equivalent operation of the primary and secondary virtual machines at predetermined stages of operation. This provides software fault tolerance wherein both a unit of replication and a component that implements the fault tolerance mechanisms is a virtual machine (VM). Since a VM as used by the invention has full knowledge of the semantics of application-level code, fault tolerance mechanisms can be provided by the VMs without requiring any increase in application complexity. Co-ordination of replicated states and computations is achieved with characteristics of both active and passive replication.
