Lots of CJ's and Yaks here already as well as an almost full North Forty parking but really cold here for a Florida boy.

Ran the AirVenture Cup Race in my CJ, winning the Heavy Metal class. I should also mention that I won 2nd and 3rd too...

364 NM of 10 knot headwind component and 36 NM of 20 knot tailwind yielded 191 mph average. Not sure if I will do it again. Burned massive quantities of dead dinosaur remains, leaving behind large CC bill.

Congratulations for winning the first 3 spots! I am surprised there was no other CJ running.
Was there any Yak in the Heavy Metal Yak class? How did you do compare with other warbirds?

I was the only warbird so I won "both" Heavy Metal" and CJ class. However, I got a 2 mile penalty in the official results because I called in for a mark 2 miles out....thinking they would click the timer when I passed overhead. "official" results will reflect a decreased "average speed".

Separate briefings for Timers and Racers. No matter, I now know I can achieve 200 mph true at 2400rpm/wide open throttle while cross-country. Altitude was 1000' AGL
