Looking at the weather report, looks like most folks up North are taking a beating, gotta be tough. But, we suffer down here too. Right now we are having record December heat under a blazing, unrelenting sun. The air was rough today from thermals, good thing the canopy slides back for fresh air. I landed drenched in sweat and taxied to a hot hanger where I wiped off all the bugs. Since the high speed setting on my hanger fan was broke, I quickly headed home to early Happy Hour. Yep, us Pheerless Phlorida Phlyers are made of tough stuff Smile

Of course I know everyone out there has challenges, the Arizona guys have to choose which tint of helmet visor they require for each hop while the California Boys are figuring out how much to tip their Hanger Valets for Christmas...

Here I am a Southern California boy visiting the land of Phlorida... I must say that although it is warm here and sunny all is not perfect!
They have some white puffy things in the sky- I looked them up and I think they are called clouds...
I checked one of the local airports and there was not a proper wine selection!
I thought there was civilization here...

Ah DZ but when the human race decided to leave the old world, they came HERE first (knowing a good thing). Yes the oldest American city and its school is still here. And yes we do have wine vineyards here (some just down the street from my airpark) that produce a wine fit for even the most discriminating pallet. (Of course us 'crackers' (the word came from the fact being a cattle state and the 'cow herders' used whips and dogs) pallets are some what dull from the good beer (Land Shark - DosXX etc etc). And yes we have clouds (not smog please note).

Fear not, give Phlorida some time, you'll grow webs between your toes, and walking in the swamps on a moon lit night will become a lot easier.

Jim "Pappy" Goolsby

P.S. You can tell a real Phloridian by the way he correctly pronounces Miami. It sounds like "Miam-a". Wink
P.S. We'll see ya at S&F.

Here, here! A beautiful and green state it is! Very different from Southern Cal. Very nice here in winter- don't know what summer would be like.
Now back to the original question of how much to tip our hangar valets...which by the way double as our wine valets....

DZ,

Here in Florida we don’t use a hangar valet, no wine valet either, we don’t use a “valet” to walk our dogs, entertain our cats, girlfriends and/or wives…

We do it all ourselves and we Love it!  – we’re a “Hands On” kinda guys…  LOL  J

Here, here! A beautiful and green state it is! Very different from Southern Cal. Very nice here in winter- don't know what summer would be like.

Now back to the original question of how much to tip our hangar valets...which by the way double as our wine valets....

Yep, winter in the South can be difficult. Here's my neighbor hanging Christmas lights at the Airpark in Panama City, Florida.
