Hello all,
With 912S I have very low temperatures, particulary in winter, oil>60°C
Coolant>60°C and I live in French Alps, When I am in descent from
10000ft or more the coolant is below 50°C. I used a masked tape on the
radiator, but it is not good when I climb > 105 to 120°C in descent > 50°C.
Few month ago I take a decision to install Calorstat.
On the Oil circuit I install the model in the picture. The result is
good temperatures are between 90 and 105°C in all configurations.
For the coolant I have project to install the calorstat showed in the
attached picture.
Does anyone have experience of this type of installation pictures and
comments or others.
Many thanks

Hi Michael
I have had both these stats installed on my 912ul classic for the last 2
years. Absolutely transformed the warm up time and the running
temperatures both settle at 80 degrees plus and don't drop during the
decent. The oil stat enabled me to move the oil radiator to its own air
intake under the prop which has really helped to keep the temperature
down in the summer.
Fitting the stats, particularly the water stat was a real struggle with
the classic cowl, not much room under there and even less now.
Regards
Pete

I have a water thermostat of Silent Hektik installed (Rotax 914)
http://www.silent-hektik.com/UL_912_Thermo.htm
Works flawless and keeps the water temp up except during very extensive descents in ice cold conditions, when it also drops below 85°C.
