Hi Guys,

A couple of years ago I bought seats and fuselage side panels for my 650 from Flight Crafters, Russell Dupree. The seats are fine and well made. However, when I went to finally install my fuselage side panels in December they did not fit properly. I contacted Flight Crafters and spoke to Russell. He told me he was currently working on a 650 and would be happy to rework the panels after sending them back to him at my expense. At the start of December I sent the panels back. Now, I can’t get the guy to return a phone call, an email and his web site has been taken down. I have called 4 times and sent 3 or four emails. He has not replied to a single message.

Has anyone else worked with this guy?

If Russell has gone out of business that is fine, I feel his pain. However, his phone picks up and you can leave messages; but he won’t return my call or an email. Unless he is dead, there is no excuse for that. If he is out of business he should just “man up” call me and apologize, at least I would be able to respect that. However, now that their web site is down (it was working last Saturday) and since he won’t reply I am feeling ripped off and I am officially pissed off.

If he ever resurfaces, regardless of his story…I would warn any and all of you to deal with him carefully.

If the guy has fallen off the Radar ZAC should pull the link from their site. They should not be sponsoring any vendor who treats a ZAC customers this way, it puts ZAC in a bad light also.

Try Flightcrafters.com. It works for me.

It is funny that you mentioned this. I own a 601 HDS that I am thinking about upgrading. Yesterday I looked up the upholstery package that Zenith offers and they put a link to Flightcrafters, but the link does not work. Also Flightcrafters is not listed anymore in their list of builder assist centers so it looks like they are no longer in operation.

I just dealt With him. Took forever, and I JUST finished reworking my $1100 interior package. Didn't fit worth a shit. He told me, this isn't a custom interior, and may not fit exactly. So, in fairness to him.... I say screw it. I don't need the aggravations fighting with him. Word to the wise however...... The interior is so unbelievable easy to make, I'm kicking my own ass over and over and over for spending so much money. It's just fabric covered cardboard. I'm serious guys.... make your own! I'd be happy to answer any more questions you might have. I had to rework it entirely anyways, so may as well just have built it myself for a quarter of the cost....

Oh well.... Live and learn. He is also PAINFULLY slow at responding. He also forgot to ship my map pockets, so I'm sure that will take till summer to get. Probably just make those myself too.

Life is a lesson...... The seats, however, are really nice!

Chad

Took 4 weeks to make the interior as well. Was supposed to be 1 week. Glad it's winter and the plane is out of service right now getting updated.

I did all my upholstery from scratch. I used fire resistant materials from Airtex and the aircraft aisle at Pep Boys. Can supply more photos if requested.

GOOD Point Chad -
I refuse to work on interiors where the owner purchased AIRTEX kits. They are as you say in French; shit, and the owner could do a much better job at 1/3 the price if they bought the materials themselves.
