I've been looking at Puddle Jumper amphib floats for my M3X. Anybody got any experience or better ideas?

Two years ago I helped a chapter member install them on a Sky Ranger. We had a few small issues but overall they were cleverly and well made. As I remember it took the two of us about 1 - 1 1/2 weeks of working mornings to install them. We chained a pulley to an overhead beam and used an ATV winch to raise the entire airplane. We then used various blocking to support the airplane and floats, the winch allowed us to make adjustments in blocking height and angle as needed.
I believe he is satisfied with the performance although climb and speed were drastically reduced, this is a 100 hp airplane. Also all landing gear suspension other than tire flex ( on the mains ) is lost so rough field operations are not really an option.
The owner has a second larger faster land plane so the float compromises on the Sky Ranger are not much of a handicap.
