My question to the yak list is what would make the manifold pressure indicator indicate 0 after startup
Yak 52 M14P after finishing up a condition inspection found fuel leaking down the number 6 intake tube after removing the tube the seal was damaged during installation at overhaul about 400 hrs ago looked like the installer put the rubber seal in and started the b-nut then installed the tube pushing halve the seal into the blower housing. I replaced the rubber seal putting the b-nut on the intake tube then the seal on the intake tube then installing the tube on the engine and starting the b-nut at the cylinder then making a tool to push the seal into the housing to make starting the housing b-nut easier, no more leak. But the manifold pressure (original Russian instrument with markings 0-16 and indicated 7.5 for atmospheric pressure pre start) reads 0 after startup and at 70% power manifold pressure is 3 indicated.

BIll;
The instrument reads in mm/hg X 100. 760 mm/hg is standard air or 29.92 in/hg.
Rather than go into a long discourse I suggest you google “manifold pressure sucks” or other similar sites.
You may very well have other incorrectly installed intake tube seals. Chances are the upper ones may not show any oil leak.
