I noted that someone was asking for an explanation of the differences between the two compressors.
Firstly, the standard compressor as fitted to the M 14 P is the AK-50A, and the differences between the two models are totally within the piston and piston rings, which are of different sizes, and therefore not interchangeable.

Does that mean the larger Cylinder, piston ring assembly still fit the AK-50A cases or Bolt pattern varies also and hence a no go
I had heard the T has a higher output?

It is actually quite complex, and I'm the first to admit that I'm not a total expert, and merely asked my partners at Aerometal in Hungary.
There are actually two versions of the AK50T, the – 30 and the – 39. The – 30 has a 1 mm larger cylinder, and a different bolt pattern. Also the – 30 has a 1.5 mm thickness rings as opposed to 2.0 millimetre thickness of the – 39.
As far as I can see, all these parts are not interchangeable!

Compressor wisdom:We have found that the KY2 series of Chinese compressors will interchange with the Russian compressors if the "clock" position of the barrel is changed (rotated). Â This is a very simple task which allows the sometimes lower cost Chinese compressor to be used on most all "Yak" installations.
