Hello
Im new in this forum.
I am Trond from Norway.
I have a Yak-52W 2000model
I have problems with my governor/propeller or something else.
To explain. My last flight, f.eks after a low pass when climbing quickly, engine couldnt keep set rpm .. Rpm fell ..resulted in lower speed aswell... lower than normal at this climb angel ...and i have to rapidly put nose down not to stall... You could feel the lack off power. I flew to airfield and landed.
I decided to change governor. Thinking this was it according to hours run.
Termikas changed my governor.
At test runs on ground everything seemed ok. There wasnt weather for flight tests..anyway..Problem thought to be solved.
Then next flight 3 weeks later..when doing run up for testflight. And trying to cycle.
The propeller would not go coarse.
When i tried to cycle with rpm handle nothing happens. I tried everything for 30 minutes. Throttle upp down.. Rpm handle up and down. Different settings..Nothing.
No change in rpm.
Flight was offcourse aborted.
What could be wrong?
Governor is new.. Could this still be a faulty governor??
Or do i have a propeller issue?
Returnline blocked???
Anybody have drawing of oil system on governor and propeller ?I dont in my manuals.
Or have drawings on total oil system included in engine drawing with governor and propeller.???
Are there return filters from propeller to oil tank??
I have a hoffman 3blade propp. If i take the propeller off my yak...and lay it on ground in hangar, should i be able to turn pitch on blades with my hands. F.ex tree guys one on each blade??
Best regards

Have you cleaned the filter in the oil supply to the governor?

There is an oil gallery running along the top of the gearbox, but part of
the original casting. On that there is a large hexagonal plug, and under
that is the filter. Obviously if it becomes restricted, then the governor
will not work correctly. It is conventional wire-mesh and easily washable.

Here's a photo of it. When you remove the hex plug, use a box end wrench and not an open end wrench because you can easily round off the flats on the hex because it is aluminum.

Due to my recent experience on this subject, check first the propeller blades free of travel, take off the front hub (easy and no pain ops) and try to opereate the pitch mechanism by hand.
there is not much of lubrication there and moisture after some time mess up bearings and other parts.
