I was curious about the comments regarding yak 52 not being a former military aircraft. Although the aircraft was designed by Russia and for sure was used by civil flight schools there. However in other countries different situation. In Romania, where the aircraft was produced (aerostar) the yak designated iak-52 was acquired by the military for primary flight training. It served that purpose begining in 1986 at Focsani airbase and continues today at the 20th airbase (Boboc). There is a airshow group in romania now flying the yak 52 TW which was never a military aircraft. Although a very nice design.
I personaly know the author of the romanian yak pilot manual capt Lascar Banu. I also have the russian version
I have asked capt banu (ret) to comment about spins. I also asked the current yak school commander to commment on spin training as it is provided at Boboc. Thanks folks
Bob
