Ha, from the picture looks like this CJ has a Yak prop, therefore a Yak engine.
Buy a Housai

Hmmm...you say "Buy a YAK." Yet as I look at the picture in this news article about the crash it would appear this CJ was sporting a "paddle prop" and big spinner... Now remind me, what was the cause of this CJ crashing? YAK motor! Booya!

I think I misunderstood the real message in you last post... It would appear upon a reread that like Sheldon I am unable to grasp sarcasm. Well said Bill. JB

Bill,
If you look closely at the picture, the airplane had a big paddle prop, which indicates an M-14. Buy a CJ!

The aft cockpit passenger told me that they were doing a touch and go landing at FFZ. During the climb-out, at about 60 feet, the engine seized… prop abruptly stopped turning. Local TV reports are that those who witnessed this had high praise for the pilot who avoided a busy intersection and shopping area. Fortunately, no one was injured. One of several miracles here is that the severed right wing ended up against a 4,000 gallon tank recently filled with 100LL. This could have been any one of us.

then it must have been one of the other CJ problems that y’all write about. Air leak, thats it, an air leak. They survived, Yak engine got them safely to the crash site. Sounds reasonable to me.
