It's in the dark? (Sorry, I just couldn't help it. Kinda like the solar
powered flashlight.)

The things we admire in men, kindness and generosity, openness, honesty,
understanding and feeling are the concomitants of failure in our system.
And those traits we detest, sharpness, greed, acquisitiveness, meanness,
egotism and self-interest are the traits of success. And while men
admire the quality of the first they love the produce of the second.

No, but I had a "dual power" calculator that stopped working. It was supposed to run on its solar cells or its battery. When I examined it, the "solar cell" was nothing but a piece of colored cardboard with no wires attached to it.

Dan,
When you say "sealed in its case. . .", that you are referring to its clear
glass front enclosure. . .?? and, not a shipping case.

If it will not output with sunlight on it, I would suspect that inside is a
blocking diode or a fuse that has been blown up by someone connecting the
unit incorrectly. If you can figure out how to open the panel, that part
can be renewed. . . .

It had been installed for awhile and we don't know if it ever did work.
I removed it from the housing and found that the ground wire was not attached to the panel. I don't know if it be repaired or not.
It isn't needed right now, so no big deal.

Thanks
