Have seen that more than once in my career. Turkey Buzzards are a bitch. Have had two bird strikes in the YAKs. Dawn and dusk are particularly high risk times for all types of bird strikes.

A turkey buzzard went right through the side glass of an EA-6B at 14,000 feet AT NIGHT! Hard to believe. But it happened.

This reminds me of a training flight in Pensacola around 1980 where a T-34
took a turkey buzzard through the windscreen. It knocked the student in
front out and blinded the Marine IP in the back with all of the blood and
guts from the buzzard. The IP couldn't communicate with the stud in front
so he assumed he was dead and bailed out. The stud woke up and a short time
later, cleared the guts from his face and flew back to Whiting Field solo.
Knocked his first solo flight out without a checkride!

I took one off the right side of the radome on a Prowler entering a low
level (VR-1351 if I recall) near the Grand Coulee Dam. Went full force into
the right duct. The good old J52 ate it, but wasn't very happy, but kept
running. Screwed up a great low level. Landed and had pretty massive
damage to the first stage considering how well it was running!
