Along with others I am thankful the pilot survived what could have been a fatal accident. The video will be very valuable to the civil aviation authority in France regarding possible disciplinary action. From viewing the selfie video, the Pulsar had climbed to only about 400 feet (not pattern altitude or higher) while his airspeed appeared to be building rapidly when the engine malfunctioned. At approximately 1-2 miles from a departure airport, is it appropriate to be casually operating any aircraft at that altitude for that location? The pilot could end up regretting that he turned the movie camera on and then posting the video on the internet! The pilot is no longer the only witness to the events surrounding the accident.
