Looking for an inexpensive option for an oil can and lines for 912UL
build? Any ball park prices would be helpful.
Ace hardware doesnt carry that!!
Thx

Not sure if this will help, but you might do a google search of "dry
sump oil tank"
They're not common on cars, but my norton motorcycle has a
(vintage=expensive) one..

If you attend one of the 912 Rotax courses, there is mention that the 912
oil header tank's inlet tube , which goes thru the tank top, is designed
to swirl the hot engine oil downward around the side wall of the header
tank to help with cooling the oil. There are several other design
features in the OEM header tanks that may not be present in an after
market tanks intended for a different engine and installation application.
How important? I do not know.
I certainly do not hold myself out as having significant expertise in this
arena.

You absolutely do not want to "jury rig " an oil tank for your 912. You are asking for engine failure. The tank is designed for that engine and it has an internal foam screen, proper capacity, cooling, etc. Do it right, attend a class or two ( I have gone to 4) and learn about this engine.
You have Lockwood,CPS,LEAF,and So Mississippi Light Aircraft all available to you.
