Here is a flight that I took Wednesday. Flight time has been rather rare so far this year either due to high winds, or other commitments. I had no trouble making the video, but uploading it was a bit of a pain. I get about 13 mbs download, but less that 1 mb upload. Perhaps I need to make shorter flights.

Nice video as always. Enjoy seeing country that I am not ever likely to fly over.

Keep looking for a nest, you will find one.

I have not yet been in the air this year. Just now working on the Firefly. Fuel lines, inspections etc. Putting finishing touches on the camper/hangar and have a new place to fly from. Very nearby but only 600’ long. It will be an interesting first flight. Once that is accomplished I will try to post some videos of central North Dakota.

BTW, how large was the file you uploaded?

Larry,
thanks again for the video. Saw a hawk turn into a thermal yesterday while I was sitting at some traffic lights. By the time the lights turned green it had been joined by four seagulls and a buzzard. A couple of crows were just joining as I pulled away. All in the space of a couple of minutes. Clever stuff. Once, in my gliding days, I was rescued by a hawk. i was flying from a hilltop site and had got below takeoff height over a local town. I was just about committed to landing in a field when I noticed a hawk in a thermal. I crept in and joined him and together we slowly gained height, the hawk doing rather better than me. I was able to get enough height to do a proper circuit and land back on the hill top. The hawk wasn`t fazed when I joined him and just sat off the wingtip giving me an occasional beady glance..

BTW, how large was the file you uploaded?- Stuart asked

This file was 1.3 gigs It was the best  quality that was offered. With a 1 MB of upload speed, you can see why it took a while to upload.

Kevin Richey-- asked

Another very nice video, Larry. I enjoy seeing the route shown. Is that included in your camera's options (Garmin?)

The track is included along with many other options by the Virb elite.

While you guy's are fluttering around trying to find problems for your solutions, I am doing a bit of flying. Smile

It is the time of the year to find my other interest other than flying and that is falcons. The young should soon be at their most noisy and visible stage of growth. The Firestar is the next best platform to find them, as well as the most fun.
I had a rather rare species of Falcon come by the house to visit with my falcon the other day, and he tweaked my interest. They generally do not venture further than about 16 miles from their nesting area, and the Owyhee Canyons at Rome are close enough for him to be living there. A grand excuse to go flying. Of course all of you have seen various parts of this flight in some of my other video's so it is in essence a rerun.

Larry C/Kolbers:

Damn fine video.  I enjoyed the flight.

I have had the pleasure of making many similar flights in my MKIII.

I miss flying it in Jordan Valley, the Owyhee, the Steens, and the Alvord.

I don't miss the 24 flight hours it takes me to get from Gantt International Airport to the Rock House and the 24 flight hours to get back home.

Think that was one of your better clips.

Perhaps it was because I didn't narrate it. :-)Larry
