My other hobby, besides flying is Falconry. I raised a young falcon this year and allowed it to be loose outside during the day. They have an genetic disposition to disperse when they are old enough. I misjudged , and he "flew the coop". I had a telemetry transmitter on him thinking that He wouldn't go all that far, and I could find him in the Firestar when he did wander a bit. These two video are of that search. The list for the most part is dead at this moment, so I don't feel all that bad about allowing you to see the country while I did those searches.
My last flight had a bit of unease with it in that apparently either my battery, or my charging system failed. I have not as of yet determined which it is. On my return from my last flight, I got a warning light on the EIS that there was low voltage. The cut off was 10 volts, and I was showing 9.4 and going lower. I determined that low voltage was my only problem, and every thing else was working, so I shut off the master switch. This also cuts off the fuel pump, and the last time I didn't have a fuel pump the egt's went pretty high and I had to nurse it home. I pulled the choke on half way, and the engine still sounded good. I waited for a while and then turned the master back on and the EGT's were fine, so I cut it off again, making it home following roads just in case.
I have ordered another battery, but have since charged the battery to an apparent full charge. I will put it under load tomorrow to try to determine if the battery is failing or the charging system is at fault.
By the way I did not find the lost falcon.

Both of these were very early in the morning as there was wind warnings for later in the day both days.

Thanks for the videos, They are always great to watch.
Seems to be a lot of that alternator out thing going on. Happened to my Firefly earlier this year (see "missed my lunch reservations"). The EIS didn't light up the idiot light until the voltage was already low. By then I only had power for about 5 -10 minutes. The 447 uses a separate alt shoe for ignition power so I was able to stay running. My problem was simply a broken wire at a wire crimp at the voltage regulator.
