I just added a lighting dimmer to my Icom A200. I didn't wire the
dimmer circuit initially, and it was really annoying to be completely
black on a dark night! Anyway, I found this document on the
aeroelectric.com site:

http://www.aeroelectric.com/Installation_Data/Icom/Icom_A200-210_Wiring_D.pdf

At the top of page 2 there is a representation of the connector at the
back of the tray labeled "Wire Entry view of Connector" that shows pins
A and 1 on the left side of the connector. The issue is from the wire
side of the connector pins A and 1 are on the RIGHT side of the
connector (the symbol is labeled backwards). The Icom installation
document has the same connector representation and it is labeled "Front
view" which may confuse someone. This "front view" refers to the front
of the radio, not the front of the plane!

If you take the radio out, sit in the pilot seat and look down the tray,
A and 1 are indeed on the left side! So I think either the symbol is
labeled backwards or it should read "Radio View Of The Connector".

Just to be clear, I added the power line from my dimmer to pin B. Laying
on my back under the instrument panel (wire entry view of the connector)
I added that wire to the top row, second from the RIGHT. And by the way
the dimmer circuit works great, so I'm pretty confident that I got the
right pin!

Sorry if this is nit-picky, but I don't want someone to blindly follow
this document and get things wired backwards! (not that I have ever done
that myself!). The document seems to be seven years old, so maybe I'm
the only one confused!

This document claims to be for both the A200 and the A210. I can only
speak for the A200.

I hope this helps!

I believe you're right. I've updated the
Icom installation data to include service,
installation and operating manuals.

I also reviewed the Molex philosophy for marking
wire locations in the connectors . . .

http://aeroelectric.com/Mfgr_Data/Connectors/Molex_Waldom/A200slash210.pdf

and all the documents agree with your observations.

I'll go dig out that drawing and correct it . . .
as soon as I get a really big hole in the
side of my house plugged with a new patio
door.

Thanks for the heads-up!!!
